One thing I learned after 18,000 trades: discipline beats strategy. You can have the best strategy in the world, but without discipline, you're just burning money. I have simple rules — 2% risk per trade, stop after 3 consecutive losses, never move my stop loss. These rules didn't make me rich overnight. But they're the reason I'm still trading after 10 years.

Gold moves 50 dollars. You're not in. FOMO hits. You chase. Then it reverses. Now you're down 30 dollars on a trade you never planned to take. I've done this more times than I want to admit. The fix? If I miss the move, I miss the move. There's always another one next week. Discipline means accepting the trades you didn't take as much as the ones you did.

I've filled 14 notebooks in 10 years. Every trade — date, pair, entry, stop, target, result, what I was thinking. When I lose, I can trace exactly why. When I win, I know what I did right. Most traders skip this. They think they'll remember. You won't. The market gives you too much information. Writing forces you to process it.

The goal of mastering this craft isn't to be right every single time. It's to lose less than others when you're wrong. And to hold more than others when you're right. Strip away all the fancy indicators and fancy charts — at the core, it comes down to two things: • Lose less when you're wrong • Hold longer when you're right Losing less is the skill that keeps you alive. Holding longer goes against every human instinct. First, train your eyes to tell the difference between a market that's chopping around and one that's trending. Then: When the market chops — take profits early, cut losses fast. When the market trends — sit on your hands and let the profits run. But here's the catch: holding without a defense is just gambling. Holding while trailing your defense higher — that's the real skill.
